Matariki Treasure Hunt
It is Maori New Year (Matariki) and the librarians decided to create a Matariki treasure hunt. The children had to read the clue to work out where the next clue was, this then lead them to the treasure which was a Matariki book. The winners got two book marks. Great work everyone!

Poetry Competition
The NZ Book Council is having a poetry competition. Each school can have 12 entries. The winners get to have Paula Green (an amazing poet) visit their school. We would love for Good Shepherd students to enter. If you are interested please give your poem to Mrs Suggate by Friday Week 1, Term 3. Mrs Suggate and Mrs Butcher will pick the 12 best poems to send to the NZ book council, so start writing!

Book Week 2015
Week 7 Good Shepherd School had a Book Week where the whole school did fun reading activities all week. We also had an author and illustrator visit, Words Apart show, buddy reading and mystery boxes. We finished off the week with a character book parade and literacy treasure hunt. We had competitions everyday and a Book Fair in the library. It was so much fun!
